Broken | Poem by Ayomide Tella

BROKEN by Ayomide Tella

Flood of tears; dropping like the rain,
She feels dejected, shuts the door on all
As aching memories of dissent revisit her canal
Causing an undeserved rip to her heart,
Voices echo; “Open! Open up for help!”
Yet, all sneak indoor, but fall on deaf ears.

Her heart is heavily pregnant,
Rumbling like a crumbled piece of paper
Wailing for vengeance, of the pain inflicted,
For she feels empty and hopeless
That her skin colour becomes aggression,
And sinking slowly into a manic depression.

Of all results, isolation she results into
To avoid hurting people around her,
As urge to destroy and kill clothes her mind
She’s never ready to quench her thirst for blood,
So, suicide she feels like committing .
To rid herself –an escape from this pain.
