Smile Bright And Dim My Troubles | Poetry | Sol_daro speaks

This is the runner up to the wordsmith if the week contest, her post I unique and you should also know she was last week’s wordsmith.
Smile bright and dispel the darkness
Be like the firefly whose biological setting is to bring light to the world
A smile to your troubles is like the Sun to a Vampire
So don’t be afraid to turn on that smile even in your most troubled days
A friend once told me there is a bright side to every bad situation
I never believed him cause he also said he sees some good in me
Which is impossible because the darkness has snuffed out the little good in me
I have been in the darkness for too long that I now see in the dark
But I just got a glimpse of your smile
Those lips of yours were meant for smiling
The darkness in me made me push you away
I thought my darkness would drown your light
How foolish of me
It never occurred to me that you would lighten up my world
I was going to say smile bright and dim your troubles
But am I not allowed to be selfish once in a while
Now all I want you to do is Smile bright and dim my troubles
Please bring some calmness to my troubled soul
