Love Struck – Chapter Five

“When I’m with you, everything feels right and when I’m not, it’s like I lose my sight.”
Those were the words written on the front page of John’s diary, which I accidentally opened.
‘Does he have a girlfriend?’ I asked myself. I began to wonder where he got the quotes. Unknowingly, John had opened the bathroom door and caught me looking at his diary.

“What!……are you doing?” he said.
“Err….it fell, so I decided to pick it up and mistakenly opened it.”
“You don’t mistakenly open someone else’s diary. It was intentional. There’s no harm in saying the truth”
“Okay, I’m sorry. It was my fault. But honestly speaking, where do you get this quotes written in your diary? From the Web or something?”

“Dude, I make my own quotes. I plan on becoming a writer in the future.” he replied.
“Wow, that’s cool”
“Yeah, I know. I’d write a lot of movies, poems, plays, and so on.”
But why did he come to study economics, I thought.
“Um, So what about Paula?” I asked
“What about her?” he replied
“I thought you said I was supposed to call her.”
“Yes, but not tonight. She’d be expecting you to call her tonight but you won’t. Instead you’ll give her a mind blowing ‘Good morning’ text message,” he said.
“I’m beginning to wonder where you came from.”
“I’m the product of a woman,” he laughed.

RING!!! The alarm woke me up to exactly 6:30am. I knew I wasn’t used to waking up early, so I set an alarm to help out. Surprisingly, John was already awake and what freaked me out was that he was smiling.
“Err…. Good morning. Hope you slept well?” I asked.
“Of course,” he replied.
“So why are you grinning?”
“I just came up with a perfect ‘Good morning’ message to send to Paula that’d burst her bubbles.”
“So… didn’t sleep last night?” I said, scratching my head.
“Tch, give me your phone.”

I handed over my phone to him and sat beside him as he typed in the message on phone.

“The clock crowed. I woke up this morning happy, having had a beautiful dream last night which you were in. I know we’ve just recently met, but I feel there’s a connection between us. I hope you slept well. Good morning and have a nice day.”
Those where the exact words he typed. It was heart touching.
